I've noticed an increase in commentary from my Christian friends regarding the current state of the world and our approach to differing political beliefs, religious beliefs, orientations, and more.
I've been pondering Luke 6:24-42. "Love your enemies..."
For those of us who call ourselves "Christian" how are we applying Luke 6 as we interact with the world around us, both near and far?
What do we do with 1 John 4:17-21? "Perfect love casts out fear..." Are we perfecting our love?
I want to follow Jesus example. I want to love God and love others.
Jesus gave his life or all of us. He loves every single one of us.
He loves those I agree with. He loves those I disagree with. He loves the folks that hate me. He loves the folks I don't care for too.
Big and small, the intelligent and the half-wit, young and old, heteros and homos, Democrats, Republicans, and Indies too, Christians, Muslims, even the Athiests, pro-lifers and pro-choicers, rich and poor, healthy as a horse or dying from AIDS, the list could go on and on.
Jesus LOVES every last one of us!
Jesus gave his life for every single one of us!
I want to live my life following Jesus' example of love for God and others.
